Ginxu Dragonfly Surf 2 Carbon
Surf, Downwind Sup, Parawing, Lightwind
Wing, Short Period.
Available in 96, 101, 106, 112, 120, 130, 148 liters.
Reshaped for the purest surfing feel.
Our shortest and most compact Dragonfly, ideal for the surf, short-period windswell, and quick-turning performance.
With a new volume distribution, evening out the nose and tail, the Surf 2 balances paddle power, take- off, and easy handling across downwind SUP foiling, prone foiling, parawing and light-wind winging.
This latest iteration finetunes each size individually, ensuring it as the go-to for riders looking for the surfiest all around Dragonfly, designed to fit perfectly in shorter period conditions.
While sizing always depends on weight and experience level, the larger sizes of the Surf 2 are our most accessible and stability oriented Dragonflies, catering to beginners just as much as the smaller sizes cater to lighter or advanced performance oriented riders.
Ideal locations – Hood River Gorge, Kehei, Bay Runs, Lake Garda, and pretty much anywhere with surf.
Key Features
- Progressive Sizing: Shorter lengths with progressive width increase for improved stability and maneuverability in surf, short-period swell, and lightwind winging.
- Ginxu Step Technology:Patented Ginxu step reduces baseplate drag, enhances takeoff, improves touchdown recovery, and unlocks a parallel angle between foil
- and deck, creating a balanced, even-footed ride from nose to tail.
- Big Wave Gun Inspired Design: Draws from shapes used by elite riders like Kai Lenny in high-speed, choppy conditions Adapted for foiling versatility across disciplines.
- Subtle Double Displacement Hull: A flatter displacement shape with subtle contours. More stable and less “tippy” than previous generations, while maintaining fast acceleration and clean takeoff.
- Performance-Focused Aerodynamics: Aero-tuned nose and tail curves reduce windage and improve crosswind performance. Refined through testing with Kai Lenny, Kane de Wilde, Otis Buckingham, and the KT Foiling team.
Elite Construction Options:
Full Sandwich: Available in 96L-106L sizes, delivering maximum stiffness, durability, and lightweight performance. 20% lighter and considerably stronger than standard carbon construction. Extra-lightweight EPS
core wrapped in a full carbon high-density exo-skeleton. Full biaxial and unidirectional carbon high-density sandwich.
Dual Fusion Core: Available in 112L-148L sizes, balancing weight and durability. 10–15% lighter and stronger than previous builds, with a more responsive feel. Biaxial Carbon with Unidirectional carbon patch- ing, and glass reinforcements throughout. Balance of stiffness and strength.
Marble Finish
Ultralight Marble finish, a high-durability, ultra-thin paint finish that is lighter, stronger, and enhances sealing.
Accessories
- Refined Lightweight Slotted Traction: Maximum grip at 50% of the weight of previous traction pad designs. Enhanced feel and response while pumping or carving.
- New Universal Track System: In-house designed 14” reinforced foil-specific track boxes with puncture resistant channels for durability and compatibility across hardware types, mast lengths, and mounting positions.
Performance
- Feeling: Quick, responsive turns and exceptional stability in surf and short-period swells.
- Disciplines: Short period river or lake runs, Parawing, Light-wind wing, or everyday SUP.
- Speed: Refined low-end acceleration and glide from the double displacement hull allow riders to ride
- narrower boards with greater stability than before.
- Stability: Progressive width through size range provides excellent directional stability across a range of
- conditions, with improved tracking and control compared to previous Surf designs.
- Takeoff: Excels at bounce-style takeoffs in surf or shorter period swells
Highlights
- Outline: Shorter length with progressive width across size range increase provides stability without sacrificing maneuverability. The width increases significantly in larger sizes to improve stability for beginners and heavier riders.
- Bottom: Ginxu Double Displacement Hull
- Flatter displacement hull with subtle double concave
- creates an ideal balance between stability and low-end
- acceleration.
- Rocker: Precisely engineered by Keith Teboul, Kane de Wilde, and Adam Lewis for optimal entry angle and subtle tail rocker to ensure a balanced, even footed feel, both in the water and in the air. Consistent performance across all sizes.
- Rails: Almond-shaped rails through the nose transition to boxier rails at the standing area for control and responsive direction changes.
- Nose: Foiled aero arrow nose reduces windage and improves cross & upwind capability. More even volume distribution between nose and tail than previous generations.
- Tail: Tri-plane tail with soft rails transitioning into an aerodynamic tail shape. Enhances water release and flow over the tail in choppy conditions.
