All-Around Wave Performance. Frontside to Onshore.
Slightly longer and wider than the new Custom Quad 9, paired with our fastest wave rocker and Vee Bottom shape. Your go‑to board for jumps, fast side to onshore riding, and world waves.
“The most versatile and forgiving thruster to date.” Adam Lewis.
A brilliantly versatile waveboard that planes early, rides fast, and delivers explosive jumps, linking your entire session. Built for speed, control, and all-around wave performance. Marcilio’s favorite board when the conditions switch to cross-onshore.
Sizes: Available in 81, 86, 92, 99, 106 liters.
Colors: Available in Luminous Bright Red with Black logos. Ultra-light, high-durability thin enamel paint finish, for lighter weight and improved sealing. Color infused into the constructions, sealing the vacuum-lamination, reducing weight further.
All-Around Wave Performance. Frontside to Onshore.
The new Custom Thruster 5 is our fastest all-around waveboard, making it a must-have in any quiver and in any condition. It blends the best design elements of both the Quad 9 and One12, delivering our fastest wave board to date with top maneuverability and range.
This board is designed to be intuitive, like the Quad 9, with the earlier planning and speed, like the One12. It has a slightly longer, wider outline than our Quad 9, providing a faster, more stable platform, excelling at jumping and cross-onshore-to-onshore riding, and delivering the best all-round experience.
The new shapes and construction feel faster, looser, and more powerful, delivering top-tier world-class wave performance. A refined building process with lighter, higher-density foam in varying thicknesses throughout, and continuous Carbon/S-Glass layering contribute to our best and lightest Custom Thruster ever, elevating wave performance to a new level of speed and fun.
Vent Plug.
Solid State vent plug that eliminates automatic vent plug failure points and leaks.
Our fastest wave rocker, V-bottom shape, and refined rail taper accelerate water flow for greater early planning and speed with the added lift needed in marginal days and side-to-onshore conditions.
Shape.
Slightly wider and longer than the Custom Quad 9 for added range, and tuned for a thruster setup to deliver the perfect balance of speed, power, and control. A more pulled-in nose from the previous generation improves control and maneuverability.
Each shape begins with the same master design and then undergoes careful, size-specific refinements. Since rider needs don’t scale in strict proportion to length or rocker to volume, every board strikes a precise balance and design—crafted to match world conditions.
Highlights.
Bottom.
A double concave sits inside the V, blending out towards the tail. The continuous V slices through the chop, accelerates planing, and enhances rail-carving performance.
Rocker.
A new fast rocker inspired by the One but with a higher nose entry creates explosive acceleration and speed, keeping the front of the board free and clear in the most vertical parts of the wave.
Rails.
Thicker and fuller/rounder ahead of the mast track, tapering smoothly toward the tail to reduce drag, the board feels surfy and forgiving up front yet fast and precise at the back.
Agility.
With an increased rail line, the board can sustain speed on the longer onshore turns, giving you a wider selection of sections and enter it at a higher speed. So while the faster rocker accelerates between turns, the closer-to-the-tail back strap sets you up for your most radical off-the-tops.
Construction.
The Pro Carbon construction continues to refine torsional flex and strength through our continuous lamination, creating a cohesive whole between the mast track, deck, rails, and bottom, without patches or fillers. A new, higher-density, lighter foam shell wraps an entirely inner-core blank, as well as the area below the heel and footstraps, creating the ultimate strength-to-weight ratio, identical to that of our custom boards built on Maui. Finally, the finishing process has been revised to use even less paint than previous versions, infusing our favorite vibrant colors directly into the board’s build.
Pads & Straps.
Re-designed dual-density pads provide better grip, comfort, and durability. A new reduced layout and optimized dual-density blend mean you have the right support and cushioning where you need it, whilst saving weight and minimizing drag. The new square pattern is angled just right to give you maximum grip and connection to the board. A surf-inspired tail kick pad gives you that locked-in feel during air moves and turns.
Best-quality neoprene and fit MFC ® foot straps, with a size measurement guide. Set them as single-centered, offset, or double screw. Cover is compatible with or without shoes. Asymmetric washers let you custom-fit the strap width around your foot.
Finboxes & Fins.
Quatro® US mast track and fin boxes, designed in-house and exclusive to Quatro/Goya, are lighter and stronger by design and bonding than conventional boxes. 2 x 5.5-inch, 1 x 7-inch US Boxes are 50% lighter—100g per box — to minimize weight and seal the Carbon Monocoque™ construction.
Drawing inspiration from the well-known “TF series” and the MFC surfing team research. The carbon composite construction ensures a consistent flex and torsion with the fastest response, enabling you to achieve top speed with maneuverability. The new Tip features a 1mm channel to minimize drag at high speeds and facilitate water flow release, enhancing the ability to make quick changes in direction.
