With over two years of evolution and over two decades in the making, generation 8 of the Custom Quad is our pinnacle wave board.
Improved efficiency and volume distribution with reduced friction and increased waterflow allowed us to augment the overall curve of the board and shorten the new Custom Quad without losing any of the lengthier previous generation’s fastness. Putting us deeper into the most critical section of the wave, right where we want to be, but with more speed and turnability under our feet. A word on weight, custom-built US boxes for lightness and compatibility, and a removed deck sticker for lightness and sustainability.

Custom Quad 8 and Custom Thruster 4 are kindred souls. Their shapes, while not fully identical, are highly related, yet specifically catering to their respective fin setups. So, if anyone likes one, they will most definitely like the other.
Feeling.
The new Custom Quad has a more connected feel to the water during the turn, it has an instant response to rider input, and goes exactly where you want it to go. Reduced swing weight means the Custom Quad feels lighter and more balanced during maneuvers. Faster, earlier planning with less drag due to the new rocker keeps the board planning through lulls for longer. Overall, it is a much lighter, more efficient board with a more responsive and engaging feel.
Construction.
A holistically reimagined construction process, consisting of a unique blend of Biaxial, Uni-Directional, and Plain Weave into our proprietary Carbon Monocoque – connecting mast track and stance to rails and bottom, forming a cohesive whole – as well as a full S-Glass hull, enables us to now craft boards identical to our custom boards built on Maui. A tailored Hyper Skin sandwich layout creates the ultimate strength-to-weight ratio. S-glass rail bands provide ideal torsional strength without adding weight or reducing flex.

The combination of a more efficient rocker, bottom shape, and rail taper creates a much faster board. This is translated into earlier planning and higher top-end speed.
Shape.
World Cup wave board, quick to plane, turns on a dime. Fine-tuned to work as a quad without compromise.
The new Custom initially gets scaled up and down from the same magic master for a cohesive feel and look. From there, each size receives manual adjustments, as our human needs don’t change exponentially in length or rocker as they do in volume, so a fine balance of math and feel has been created, catering to the conditions we encounter and how we ride them.

Highlights
Bottom
V at the front blending into double concave, finishing in single concave out of the tail, creating a faster, more forgiving bottom shape.
Rocker
Higher nose entry and lower tail rocker create earlier planning and a super fast feeling by reducing drag. No compromise Quad Setup.
Outline
Shorter and more compact, it increases the outline curve for better maneuverability.
Rails
More surfy and forgiving up front, fast and precise at the back. Thicker and fuller in front of the mast track, constantly tapering towards the tail, reduces drag.
Nose
A sleeker and more aerodynamic super light nose. Gradually reduced reinforcements towards the front of the board create a super light nose feeling, significantly reducing the swing weight.
Tail
Drop swallow tail for faster water release and better durability.
Pads.
Dual Density Pads, redesigned from the ground up, provide better grip and comfort. A new layout and optimized dual-density blend means you have the right support and cushioning where you need it whilst saving weight and minimizing drag. The new patterns are angled in the right direction to give you maximum grip and connection to the board.
Fins.
Center fins are parallel at 0; side fins have a toe of 1°.
We highly recommend using our new composite carbon fins supplied with the board. These fins are designed to provide accelerated control turns and drive, enhancing your riding experience.
The new Quad Carbon construction is designed to handle various wind and wave conditions. It is ready for you to ride in any ocean conditions. Built upon the renowned K300, this wave set represents the ultimate upgrade in construction and design. The new profile provides a distinct advantage in low-end and lighter winds. Additionally, with a slight increase in surface area at the tip, the new boards can plane earlier and maintain better control during wave riding. The Carbon Composites lay-up has boosted the Top Speed by maintaining a steady flex and torsion. This set provides the best upgrade for an ultimate performance boost.

Design.
We significantly reduced the overall weight by letting the laminate texture virtually become the artwork, eliminating the need for stickers. We stopped the use of plastic in our product graphics. With these boards, form doesn’t just follow function; the function is the form. We call it Tech-Reveal finish.
Stock Model.
A Goya Windsurfing Stock Model represents our current line and our latest shapes, tech, and components. This board is built by hand and features advanced construction, build quality, and a level of attention that is otherwise only experienced in a custom model.
Volume.
Volume and support are exactly where you need it. A completely new volume flow creates a flatter and more stable standing area when not planning, increasing the dome between the foot straps and towards the tail, creating a more stable yet more responsive feel.
